E63s AMG

E63s AMG

The Mercedes AMG E63s has 4-matic as standard. With an electronically controlled transfer case, a clutch is controlled that can send about 250nm to the front differential. The rear differential is engaged directly and thus receives 100% of the power when the transfer box is free and part of the power when the transfer box engages the clutch.

That means less stress for the rear differential, the computer can engage the front clutch before using full power. However, if the car has over 1000hp, such as with GAD Motors stage 3 package, the rear differential will still have a lot to endure. See the result below:

Shattered parts from the OEM electronically controlled lsd

We have developed a solution especially for this customer. The parts that swim in the oil at the bottom are parts of the gears of the standard electronically controlled locking differential. These are parts that are unfortunately not available separately from Mercedes. We can replace the e-lsd for the mechanical OS Giken Superlock or TCD (Drexler is also available). We have also developed a kit to keep the electronically controlled part, so the car will not show any error messages. Parts of these mechanical plate type lsd’s are available separately so better replaceable if something breaks.

OS Giken TCD limited slip differential and reinforced gears.

The experience in the car is also that there is immediately more grip available, the mechanical lock does not wait until the computer has turned all the lights to green, it also uses the torque of the engine to steer both wheels and therefore does not fail as soon as there is more power or grip available than what AMG ever envisioned.
